Bobby Crashes Sundance !!

#1000 3 years, 7 months ago

Grateful Dead fans that attended this year’s Sundance Film Festival were in for a surprise with a special performance by founding band member Bob Weir in support of director Jim Kohlberg’s rock-and-roll infused film The Music Never Stopped. Check out the trailer below.

Weir held a small concert on Jan. 23 at the ASCAP café on Park City’s Main Street and performed a fantastic set including hits “Jack Straw,” “Truckin’” “The Other One” and “The Music Never Stopped.” JamBase has an exclusive performance from this concert of Weir performing “Loose Lucy.”

The Music Never Stopped is based on the case study "The Last Hippie" by Dr. Oliver Sacks, M.D. (Awakenings), chronicles the journey of a father and son adjusting to cerebral trauma and a lifetime of missed opportunities. Through the music that embodied the generation gap of the 1960s, and working with music therapist Dianne Daly (Ormond), the film weaves the heartwarming progress of Henry (Simmons) and Gabriel (Pucci).

The film features music by Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, The Beatles, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Buffalo Springfield. The film stars J.K. Simmons, Lou Taylor Pucci, Cara Seymour and Julia Ormond.

The Music Never Stopped will open in theaters March 18, 2011 from Roadside Attractions. The film opens on March 18 throughout the country by Roadside Attractions.
